Description
The USACE Marine Design Center intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) procurement to obtain one inland river, all welded steel towboat for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District. The towboat shall be twin-screw, with two main engines delivering approximately 3350 HP total. The vessel dimensions shall be approximately 144 foot x 40 foot x 11 foot. The primary mission of the towboat will be the year-round support of the Revetment Operations on the Mississippi, Atchafalaya and R ed Rivers, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), and Channel Patrol on the Mississippi River. The vessel will also operate as the Vicksburg Harbor fireboat during part of the year. The vessel shall be classed with ABS Matltese Cross A-1 Towing Vessel, R iver Service with Maltese Cross AMS. The Invitation For Bid Number (IFB) W912BU-04-B-0017 will be available on the Internet Web pages on or about 1 April 2004. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors s hall download this IFB (including drawings) and all amendments from the Internet web page at the following address https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after the issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Internet Web Pag e. All amendments to this IFB will be posted to the Internet web page at the above address. Hard copies will not be furnished. It is the contractors responsibility to monitor the web page for any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web page. If any of the contractors information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet Web Page. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause for dela y in receiving notification of the IFB and Amendments. Contractors are responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments. Bids will be due on or about 4 May 2004. NAICS code is 336611 with a size standard of 1000 employees. Bonding is required. All contractors are required to be registered in the DODs Central Contract Register before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
