Description
The USDA Forest Service, National Forests in Alabama is in need of professional archaeological services for an inventory of cultural resources in support of management activities on the Conecuh National Forest, located in Covington and Escambia counties, Alabama. This request for proposals and contract resulting from this solicitation shall be a Firm-Fixed Price Performance Base contract for a Phase I cultural resources inventory of approximately 1,000 acres for proposed timber sale on the Conecuh National Forest. The contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, equipment, tools supplies, materials, transportation, facilities, and incidentals necessary to perform the cultural resource inventory and evaluation in accordance with the specification and provisions contained in the solicitation and any resultant contract. Tasks include, but are not limited to, archaeological survey, evaluation, artifact analysis, collections curation, cultural resource recording, prehistoric and historic synthesis, cultural resource management plans, National Register eligibility assessment, report preparation, global positioning system (GPS) and geographical information systems (GIS) mapping, locating and marking of archaeological sites located on the Conecuh National Forest. The contract time for completion of this project shall be 135 calendar days. NAICS code is 541990 with a size standard of $6.0 million. All vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of a Federal contract. The preferred method for completing registration is via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov/. A handbook and other information are available at the site, including information on how to obtain a DUNS number, which is required to begin the registration process. Solicitation package will be posted and available to download on http://fedbizopps.gov on or after April 2, 2004. The scheduled date for the Pre-Bid/Site Visit will be included in the solicitation.
