Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Colorado proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with the University of Denver to provide specialized modeling and design support to NOAA's Aeronomy Laboratory in the implementation of low turbulence aerosol inlets on the NOAA WP-3D on the NOAA WP-3D and NASA's WB57 research aircraft. It is the government's belief that the skills of the researcher's engaged by the University of Denver are uniquely qualify them for this work. Both inlets were developed by the University of Denver Aerosol Group and have been operated extensively by the University. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100K). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
