Description

This project consists of the placement of beachfill from Cape May Inlet to Poverty Beach and Cape May City (CMC) beaches 6th periodic nourishment and beachfill at Lower Cape May Meadows (LCMM) and Cape May Point (CMP initial construction), New Jersey . This project is being combined into a single specification and a single set of plan drawings. This project is being advertised as a single contract with several options. The base contract is for the placement of the beachfill at Area 1 (Coast Guard B each and CMC) and Area 2, western end (Station 65+00 and west) of LCMM to CMP Cell 6. The base contract consists of approximately 1,100,000 cubic yards. Option 1 is for placement of beachfill at Area 3 which is for the remainder of LCMM (3rd Avenue termi nal groin to Station 65+00 in FY05) and extension of stormwater outfalls, pedestrian dune crossovers, construction of an access road, vehicle dune crossovers, planting of dune grass and sand fence. Option 1 consists of approximately 700,000 cubic yards. There are two options for an additional 100,000 cy each of beachfill for Area 2 and two options for an additional 50,000 cy each of beachfill for Area 3. The Invitation For Bid Number (IFB) W912BU-04-B-0008 will be available on the Internet Web pages on or about 9 April 2004. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors shall download this IFB (including drawings) and all amendments from the Internet web page at the following address https://ebs.nap.usace.ar my.mil on or after the issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Internet Web Page. All amendments to this IFB will be posted to the Internet web page at the above address. Hard copies will not be furnished. It is the contractors responsibility to monitor the web page for any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web page. If any of the contractors information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make chan ges to their user profile on the Internet Web Page. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause for delay in receiving notification of the IFB and Amendments. Contractors are responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments. Bid s will be due on or about 11 May 2004. NAICS code is 237990 with a size standard of $17.0. Bonding is required. All contractors are required to be registered in the DODs Central Contract Register before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
