- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics, has a requirement for the analysis and review of total body, proximal femur, and lumbar spine scan images, including quality control scan images using Hologic Discovery A or Discovery W QDR software versions. Total body scans will be analyzed for total and regional bone mineral and soft tissue composition. Femur and spine scans will be analyzed for total and regional bone mineral. The contractor will provide personnel with expertise in scan image analysis and in quality control evaluation of total body, proximal femur, and lumbar spine scans from survey participants and quality control data from standardized calibration phantoms collected on Hologic 4500A fan-beam densitometers. The personnel with expertise in DXA will review participant and quality control scans to ensure that acquisition by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) field staff is appropriate. The period of performance will be date of award through March 2011, and the Government intends to issue a fixed-price requirements contract for a base period and six options. Solicitation 2004-N-01203 will be available on or about April 28, 2004 and proposals are due by May 28, 2004. No telephone requests will be accepted. Written requests may be sent to the above address, faxed to (412) 386-6429, or sent via e-mail to fbb4@cdc.gov. Offerors may obtain a copy of the RFP via the internet at www.eps.gov. All responsible sources with appropriate capabilities may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency.
