Description
DESC: The U.S. Marine Corps is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to determine availability of Foreign Comparative Test (FCT) commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) training bolts for the M16A2 and M4 rifles that is compatible with SNC Technologies? Simunition. This Training Bolt will replace the currently existing SESAMS Upper Receiver for the M16A2 and M4 Service Rifles. The M16A2/M4 Training Replacement Bolt will provide the Marines with the capability to engage adversaries in a MOUT Urban Warfare environment. The bolt will utilize the 5.56mm Special Effects Small Arms Marking System FX Marking Cartridge. The Replacement Bolt has to be designed to prevent the accidental chambering and firing of lethal 5.56mm service ammunition of any type. The Training Bolt must be replaced with the standard bolt assembly in order to return the M16/M4 to normal service.
