Description

The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM)has a requirement for Multifunction Control Unit that will provide an integrated set of controls mounted in a grip to provide remote MFD and Sensor (FLIR, Map, and multi-mode Radar) control for the intended aircraft. The MFCU will consist of an ambidextrous grip using a RS-429 interface for the required switches, encoders and transducers. The MFCUs will be installed on the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) (SOAR(A)) aircraft: MH-47s, MH-60s and H-6s. A minimum of 10 units will be purchased, with estimated quantities shown in the following table. FISCAL YEAR ESTIMATED QUANTITY 2004 100 2005 75 2006 75 2007 60 2008 60 Firms that recognize and can produce the required item described above are encouraged to identify themselves to the contracting officer (Shirley Powell) who can provide additional information regarding the qualification requirement. The desired delivery date is September 2004. The delivery point shall be to L-3 Communications, TAPO Warehouse, Lexington, KY. It is anticipated that Solicitation H9241-04-R-0030 will be issued the week of 12 April 2004. All technical questions should be directed to Sabrina Powell at powells@tapo.eustis.army.mil.
