Description
NA Saw and Seal Paver Joints on the Grand View Terrace and Avenue of Flags. GRAND VIEW TERRACE " Saw cut all expansion joints (expansion joint defined as any straight joint in excess of 8 linear feet or as identified by NPS project manager) to the required specification of : ?" wide and 2 ?" deep. Close expansion joints with ?" closed cell polyurethane backer rod and ?" X ?" TREMCO THC 900 Aluminum Stone two part caulk. Caulk finish elevation must match surface elevation of surrounding paver stones. " Paver mortar joints on the Grandview Terrace have already been cut to the required specification of: ?"wide by ?"deep, approximately 10,630 square feet of area. Close all pre-cut paver joints with TREMCO THC 900 Aluminum Stone two part caulk. Caulk finish elevation must match surface elevation of surrounding paver stones. Approximately 100 linear feet of joint per 100 square feet of surface. AVENUE OF FLAGS " Avenue of Flags consists of approximately 6,480 square feet of area. No expansion joints or paver mortar joints have been cut in this area. " Saw all expansion joints to the required specification of: ?" wide and 2 ?" deep. Close all expansion joints with ?" closed cell polyurethane backer rod and and ? " X ?" TREMCO THC 900 two part caulk, aluminum stone in color. Caulk finish elevation must match surface elevation of surrounding paver stones. " Saw all paver mortar joints to the required specification of: ?" wide by ?" deep. Close paver joint cuts with TREMCO THC 900 Aluminum Stone two part caulk. Caulk finish elevation must match surface elevation of surrounding paver stones. OTHER PROJECT REQUIREMENTS " All sawing, routing, and grinding operations will be accomplished between the hours of 11:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. " Clean-up of sawing and routing operations must be accomplished no later than 6:30 AM daily. " Work site and staging area must be maintained free of debris and cleaned at the end of each work shift. " No material/product substitution will be allowed. " All material application will be performed in accordance with all manufacturer guidelines--temperature, humidity, winds, etc? " Contractor will be responsible for placement of appropriate pedestrian traffic control devices. Devices must be approved by the NPS Project Manager. " As this work site is a National Memorial with high numbers of national and international visitors, inappropriate dress, behavior, and loud/inappropriate language is not tolerated. Likewise, loud and inappropriate music is not allowed. " All OSHA and Department of Labor standards/requirements will be strictly adhered to by any and all individuals associated with this project. " Debris will be removed from the work site/staging area daily or placed in an approved (by the NPS Project Manager) container. " All construction debris will be appropriately disposed of at an approved and licensed (by Environmental Protection Agency/South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources) landfill. " All project questions or concerns will be brought to the attention of the NPS Project Manager. " A construction meeting between the NPS Project Manager and Contractor Project Supervisor will be accomplished weekly to discuss project status, concerns, and other project issues. " All interested parties are required to attend a site visit April 23, 2004, prior to submitting a proposal for this project to become acquainted with existing materials, site conditions, and other issues associated with this project. Award of the project will be in accordance with the Small Business Competiveness Demonstration Program (Public Law 100-656). This project is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act. Estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. NAICS:235410, P&S:Z299. This solicitation will be available only on the Department of Interior (DOI) website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov O/A April 9, 2004 and will close O/A May 9, 2004 at 02:00 pm MST, unless extensions are issued in an amendment. This is an an evaluated procurement to determine Best Value and contractor will be evaluated on past performance, recent experience of similar type work and cost. All evaluation factors other than price or cost, when combined, are approximately equal to price or cost.
