- Description
- Research and Development Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI): The Naval Center for Space Technology at the Naval Research Lab is seeking sources for thermal control components to build and test a spacecraft system that will be tested on the ground, under vacuum, and in space. Examples of items needed include, but are not limited to, the following: very high temperature plume radiation shields and materials, sensitive temperature measurement devices, high reliability thermal switches, tight tolerance heating elements, ultra clean Kapton and Mylar film substrates with thin film depositions of silver, aluminum, inconel, analysis software, cleanroom equipment and cleaning products, and certified materials such as cleaning fluids, films and film derivatives, and raw metallic materials. The flight hardware requires both high reliability and special care in assembly that is associated with critical spacecraft equipment. The vendor for such flight hardware shall use, when specified, detailed and fully documented processes and procedures (e.g., vapor deposition, cleaning, inspection, derating) to define all of the materials, fluids, manufacturing steps, inspections, and quality assurance processes used in designing, developing, manufacturing, testing, and delivering the item. All such processes and procedures shall be made available to the customer for review and approval prior to beginning manufacturing operations. Vendor?s ability to meet stringent time constraints and rigid schedules will be a primary consideration. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a request for proposals and a solicitation is not available at this time. Interested vendors must submit a statement of capabilities and a summary of work performed with a list of customers
