Description
The purpose of this amendment is to address the following questions: 1) Q. Are the specifications for the desired vehicles correct as listed below? A. The specifications are correct for the 2005 vehicles. 2) Q. Concerning (4) wheel anti-lock disc braking system, which cars (automatic or manual) should these four anti-lock disc braking systems be installed in? A. The (4) wheel anti-lock disc braking system should be on all the vehicles, automatic and manual. 3) Q. Concerning 17 or 18 ZRated high performance tires, can you clarify whether this applies to specific vehicles or to the whole lot? A. The entire fleet of vehicles should have either 17 or 18 ZRated high performance tires. 4) Q. What is the maximum number of 5 day courses to be held in any calendar year? What is the maximum number of 2 day courses to be held in any calendar year? A. The number of classes are dependent upon the number of basic agent and uniformed division recruit classes that are offered next fiscal year. 5) Q. Are these vehicles intended for usage beyond the Secret Service training facility? If not, are government tags available for these vehicles? What is the purpose of having these vehicles registered for on road usage? A. These cars will be used at the Secret Service facility. But, on occasion the cars will be taken off campus for a car wash or for eminence that can't be done on campus. Government tags are not available for these vehicles. 6) Q. What is the accident record of these vehicles over the past three years? A. There have been no accidents for the past three years. 7) Q. Will the sirens be mounted in a workmanlike manner and will USSS repair any installation body damage prior to return of the vehicles? A. Yes. 8) Q. What is the make/model of vehicles currently being used to fulfill this need? A. 2002 Camaro's with a police package. In addition, maintenance service identified in the solicitation for the vehicles is no longer required. The USSS will provide regular maintenance on the vehicles, which shall include oil changes, tire and brake work. Any maintenance that is covered by the bumper to bumper warranty will be taken to the local dealer.
