Description
The VA Medical Center located in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking sources/information for various types of patient tracking systems/devices that has the capability to be expanded to track equipment. Specifically, we are trying to address patient wandering and later internal equipment tractability. While internal patient and equipment tracking is of primary concern the Medical Center is also interested in systems that incorporate technologies that allow for external tracking within a 1/2 mile radius, alarms and/or locking of doors if the tracking mechanism gets within a selected threshold and individual employee panic alarms. There are no specific requirements to conform to, at this time, as this source request is to attempt to obtain a sampling of what technology is currently available in the present market. There are no funds currently available for a procurement and all information will be used for informational and/or for future planning purposes. Those companies interested in submitting their system/s or those purporting to have such a system please provide all pertinent written information regarding your system by April 23, 2004 at 4:30 PM CST. Submissions may include but does not have to be limited to: plans, specifications, sample/s, cut sheets, contract information, contact person information (name, title, & phone number), company profile, etc., to the following: VAMC, 700 South 19th Street (90), Birmingham, AL 35233. Please note on the outside of the envelope that contained within is ?patient/equipment tracking information?. No information/samples submitted will be returned. A pre-solicitation meeting will be held on April 28, 2004 at 1:00 PM CST. The meeting will be free form and will be used to augment the knowledge basis to be used in making a procurement directional decision for BVAMC. Any party interested in participating must register for seating space by 12:00 noon on April 23, 2004. Questions should be directed to Art Nalley at (205) 933-4494 or faxed in writing to (205) 933-4509.
