- The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command is seeking sources and requests information related to the procurement of Engine Air Particle Separators (EAPS) designed to separate particulate matter from aircraft engine air in the operation of the T55 a ircraft engine. The EAPS swirls engine inlet air at a high velocity separating particulate matter via centrifugal force. The EAPS will be used as mission equipment in dusty/sandy environments and must significantly increase engine life due to decreased e rosion of engine components. Interested/qualified business sources must provide enough information to make them viable candidates by providing drawings and provisioning data that apply the application of EAPS to the T55 engine and the CH-47 aircraft. An y interested/qualified business sources applying must have knowledge of this process and familiarity with the operation of an Engine Air Particle Separator. Interested/qualified business sources that can provide the requirements in accordance with the description above are invited to submit information to include, a brief description of their company??????s history, corporate capability with data to substanti ate qualifications, a list of examples demonstrating market competence, rough order magnitude (ROM) cost and availability data, manufacturing and delivery capabilities, and/or other market related information. Data provided to substantiate qualifications should include information on current products meeting the characteristics stated in this announcement and availability of products to meet this requirement. Please include the name, telephone number, and email address of a corporate point of contact. Fi rms responding to this synopsis should state if they are a large, small, or small disadvantaged business. Request this information be submitted no later than May 10, 2004. Please stipulate the period for which the data will remain valid. A minimum validi ty period of twelve (12) months is required. This Sources Sought/Request For Information is for planning purposes only, and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on t he part of the U.S. Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government will not award a contract on the basis of this Sources Sought/Request For Information or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment by the Go vernment of direct or indirect costs or charges will arise as a result of the submission of responses to this Sources Sought/Request For Information and the Government use of this information.
