- Description
- The Research, Development and Engineering Command-Armament Research Development and Engineering Command?s (RDECOM-ARDEC, formerly known as TACOM- ARDEC) involvement in the Army?s Future Munitions Systems and the next generation of advanced armament systems will require a support contractor with extensive background and experience in the area of high density packaging of small complex Mechanical electronic and Electro-Mechanical systems/devices. The contractor must have a proven record to design, fabricate and produce systems/devices with a high level of operational reliability after exposure to extreme environments (i.e., simultaneous high ?G?, high pressure, and high temperature environments resulting from tank cannon gun launch) with a high flight functioning reliability. The contractor must be capable of integrating these complex systems/devices (fuzing/sensor/arming) with multi-mode warheads, seekers and guidance systems in complex weapon systems with high reliability and low cost. This contractor is also required to have broad and extensive experience in the area of mechanical and electronic fuze items/devices related to Safe and Arm (S&A), Micro Electrical Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC), Global Positioning (GPS) System Receivers, and ?gun-hardened? components/devices (as related to cannon fired munitions, allowing these munitions to match the system?s required capability). This capability must be under the prime contractor?s direct control and must have an established agreement with any other contractor should there be a teaming arrangement. This announcement does not constitute an invitation for bids or a request for proposal, nor is it be construed as a commitment by the Government. Responses and questions about this announcement should be submitted to U. S. Army, TACOM, Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce, AMSTAAQ-APB, Building 9, Attn: Carol Yanavok, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000.
