Description

THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and issue a sole source modification to extend Contract N00019-99-D-1063 for a 6-month period and two three 3-month option periods pursuant to FAR Par 6.302-1. The contract modification is required to sustain continuous commercial air services in support of U.S. Navy programs in the Naples, Italy operating area until the competitive follow-on procurement can be awarded. The current contract expires 30 September 2004, and the modification will extend the period of performance to 30 March 2005, with two (2) three month options. The current contractor, Flight International, Inc., is the only source available to provide the required services for a six-month period, due to extensive day-to-day contact between the government, fleet schedulers, and contractor personnel, required aircraft and equipment, and short time frame of performance for which these critical readiness training services are required. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 488190 Other Support Activities for Air Transportation with a size standard of $6M. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal.
