Description

The following query was submitted after the closing time for vendor Q&A (Monday, 03 MAY 2004): Q: "On the hardware for Peace Corps refresh, I have a question regarding potential hardware changes. I am currently bidding on the specific configurations in the solicitation, but it is not clear what the process is for establishing the price if and when product changes occur mid-year. The solicitation indicates that hardware will be reviewed and that appropriate personnel need to be informed of product changes no less than 90 days prior to changes, but it doesn't discuss how those changes will be priced. Can you clarify that?" A: Please refer to the Statement of Work, Section IV "Deliverables" - The vendor will notify PC CIO/OI/ITS a minimum of 90 days ahead of any product changes. Also refer to hardware notes such as "or most current generation" and "or current compatible processor available" etc. to evidence Peace Corps intent regarding product end of life issues. Offerors are also reminded of the commercial nature (see FAR 12) of this acquisition and are hereby required to offer year-to-year and volume pricing discount terms similar to those offered to long standing, high volume customers.
