Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about approximately 03 June 2004. Reference SOLICITATION NUMBER N68335-04-R-0021. The solicitation will appear on NAVAIR HOME PAGE www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations/. The requirement is for Sealing Strips, Part Number 613380-3, Rev H, and Quantity of 8, No Option. The Sealing Strips are used in a crucial shipboard system supporting the launch and/or recovery of aircraft. The Sealing Strips are part of the catapult cylinders. The Sealing Strips are required to prevent excessive steam leakage from the launching engine when the catapult is fired. The Strips are 7/16? thick X 1-1/8? wide and approximately 300 feet long with 2 holes in one end. Initial Production unit will be dimensionally inspected, and undergo tensile testing and magnetic particle inspection at the contractor?s facility. The contractor shall assist on the conduct of the certification inspection(s). Upon completion of inspection, the unit will then undergo final inspection and acceptance by the Government at source. Preservation, Packaging, and Packing for all units will be by best commercial practices to ensure safe delivery to final destination. The Sealing Strips are Critical Safety Items and are subject to Export Control regulations and will only be released to firms who are certified with the DLSC for receipt of military critical technical data. It is requested that all interested parties submit a current completed and certified DD Form 2345 (Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement to NAWCADLKE Contracting Office. Higher Level Contract Quality Requirements and Configuration Management per MIL-STD 973 are required. FOB to NAWC, Lakehurst, NJ; Delivery due 6 months after date of award. This solicitation is Unrestricted. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract to the offeror whose proposal offers the best value to the Government, considering the factors of Past Performance and Price.
