Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for maintenance and technical support of its International Satellite Communications System (ISCS) World Area Forecast System (WAFS)/Meteorological Laboratory (MetLab) Workstations located in (a) Silver Spring, Maryland, (b) Miami, Florida, (c) Kansas City, Missouri, (d) Honolulu, Hawaii, and (e) San Juan, Puerto Rico. The work to be performed shall include hardware maintenance, provision of replacement parts, software maintenance, including software upgrades, and associated technical support. The period of performance of this effort shall be from approximately June 10, 2004 through November 9, 2004 with three one-year options. This acquisition will be accomplished using simplified acquisition procedures. NOAA intends to negotiate this acquisition on a sole source basis with Global Science & Technology, Inc. (GS&T) of Greenbelt, Maryland. GS&T is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of these ISCS WAFS/MetLab Workstations and is the only known source that can provide the required services. Although NOAA expects that only GS&T can provide the required services, all responsible sources may respond to this notice by submitting a quotation not later than June 7, 2004 which shall be considered by NOAA. A determination by NOAA not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of NOAA.
