- Description
- The Navstar Global Positioning System (GPS) Joint Program Office (JPO), Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) is anticipating contracting for a GPS Space Receiver to support various SMC satellite programs. The Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contract will result from a Request for Proposal (RFP) anticipated for the 4th Quarter FY04?1st Quarter FY05. The GPS receiver must be capable of operating with legacy civilian course acquisition code (C/A-code), L2 civil code (L2C), and military encrypted precision code (P(Y)-code) GPS signals as well as the new military code (M-code) GPS signal and GPS III's M-code spotbeam. There may also be a requirement to track the L5 civil code. The receiver must also be able to operate in the space environment for a minimum of ten years. This sources sought synopsis is for planning purposes only, and shall not be considered an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or an RFP, and in no way shall be considered as a commitment by the Government. Information associated with this program may be classified up to, and including, TOP SECRET Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Only U.S. owned companies resident within the continental United States or its territories will be considered for bids. Firms that feel they are qualified for this effort should describe their capabilities, experience, and expertise in the following areas: (1) Military GPS receiver development, (2) Space qualified GPS receiver development, (3) GPS M-code, (4) Experience with SCI handling and number of SCI cleared personnel, (5) SCI cleared facilities available. Offerors must have capabilities in all areas. If you do not possess current in-house capability in all areas, state how you would obtain the capability (e.g. hiring additional people, teaming, subcontracting, etc.). Firms wishing to be considered for this effort should submit their written Statement of Capabilities to SMC/GPK (ATTN: Mr Arthur Trader), 2420 Vela Way, Suite 1866, El Segundo, CA 90245-4659.
