Description

The Government announces its requirement to procure for space alterations and repairs at the first floor of Federico Degetau Federal Office Building, 150 Carlos Chardon Ave., Hato Rey, PR. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools and supervision. Work shall include, but is not limited to, selective demolition of existing construction, replacement of existing acoustical ceiling, removal of existing floor finishes, replacement of tiles, construction of gypsum board and CMU partitions to create new offices, meeting, ancillary and grand jury spaces, replacement of existing doors and installation of new hardware, restoration of existing doors and hardware, installation of required electrical surveillance, security, and alarm extension systems in hallways, doorways, offices, and grand jury suite?s, construction of gypsum board furring at walls, construction of wood panels furring at grand jury suite?s walls, fabrication and installation of kitchenette cabinets, bookcases, and grand jury suite, casework, & wood wall paneling, relocation of existing utility furnishings as required to accommodate the works, installation of new lighting fixtures, relocation of fire protection utilities to accommodate the works, surface preparation and painting of walls, installation of new floor finishes over existing in egress corridor and elevator core areas, construction of new water closet facilities, installation of new electronic entrance control devices, installation of new air conditioning system machinery, ductwork, and related appurtenances, and all mechanical and electrical work required in connection with the improvements described above. The magnitude of this construction project is estimated between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 and the size standard is $28.5 million. Performance and payment bonds will be required following award pursuant to the Miller Act. A bid guarantee is also required. This procurement is 100% set-aside for HUB Zone concerns. Offers from other than HUB Zone certified business concerns will not be considered. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. The required construction completion date is 300 calendar days commencing one day after the notice to proceed. The solicitation number is GS-02P-04-PIC-0014 . The anticipated solicitation release date is June 24, 2004. This solicitation incorporates documents, which are not available electronically on the Government wide Point of Entry (GPE). Interested parties may access the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. This site provides instructions for downloading the solicitation file. The solicitation, amendments to the solicitation, specifications and drawings will be available through a secured Internet site. Interested parties shall send all requests to access the secured Internet site and requests for the solicitation to the attention of Zenaida Delgado at the e-mail or mailing addresses shown in this pre-solicitation notice. Contractors are requested to provide a street address, telephone number, business license or other documentation granted by the state or local jurisdiction to conduct business, valid DUNS number, valid IRS Tax ID Number and e-mail address. Contractors will also be required to sign a Document Security Notice. Once the request for the solicitation has been accepted, an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided. The e-mail will provide instructions for entry into the secured Internet site and access to the solicitation. Contractors should request e-mail notification from FedBizOpps in order to remain apprised of solicitation. Telephone or facsimile requests will not be accepted for this solicitation.
