- Amendment 0001. RFQ HSCG38-04-Q-500015 is hereby amended and provides the following additional specifications: "DESIRED CONFIGURATION" is changed to read "REQUIRED CONFIGURATION". Para 1) Low profile nature" is associated with the flotation cell deflated. 60lbs. of buoyancy is required to be achieved by a single actuation lanyard. The location of "easily accessible actuation lanyard" is the front torso. The specific bladder configuration is yoke type encircling around neck and lobes extending down to chest. At a minimum the bladder must be encased in Nomex. At a minimum, standard Nomex meets the flash fire protection requirement ? standards generally require a 5 second exposure to flame. Para 4) Armor is a separate component. The Coast Guard currently uses Stinger body armor model AV/IV by Protective Materials Company, Miami Lakes, Fl. Para 5) is amended and includes the following descriptions: SEA.2.system - SEA.2 System - Main Body of device Height 9 inches, Cylinder diameter 2.5 inches. Hose length 20 inches of .5 inch diameter hose to be stored in pocket with device. Second stage mouth piece is 3 inches in diameter. Mouth piece must be externally stored on vest where it can be easily retrieved by aircrewman. MK- 124 - 1.75 inches in diameter, 5.5 inches in length; MK-79 Pen Flare Kit ? 6inches x 3inches x .75 inches; Strobe - ACR Firefly 2 ? 4.5 inches x 2 inches x .75 inches; Knife ? Spyderco Assist ? 4.8 inches in length closed by 1 inch wide; Space Blanket ? 4 inches x 3 inches x .5 inches. Para 6) is amended to describe the "pull-the-dot" snap pattern to "Snap pattern must be six male studs arranged in two vertical lines of 3 studs each with 2 inches between each vertical line of 3 studs measured to the center of the stud. Studs in each vertical line must be spaced 2 inches apart measured to the center of the stud". Para 8) The color "midnight blue" includes a dark navy blue. Para 9) is amended to include the vest should be adjustable from 34 short with no body armor and plate armor through 52 long with body armor and plate armor. Para 10) is amended to include "Those sections pertinent to minimum construction and hardware requirements excluding those section pertaining to infants and children. Requirements of sections, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1.2, 4.1.3, .4.1.4.2, 4.1.3.1, 4.1.4.3, 4.1.7, 4.1.12 (1)(4)(5) are at a minimum to be met".The closing date for receipt of quotes is not extended.****
