Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written document will not be issued. HSCG44-04-Q-SCCS106 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 01-20. The applicable NAICS number is 332312 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This is an unrestricted procurement. The contract will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13.5. The FOB Destination delivery is to: Portsmouth, VA 23703, on or before:_August 2004. The US Coast Guard, C2CEN has a requirement for NX-100 Nema 0183 Expanders. These units are required to input navagational sensors into SCCS 2X, the current NOLAND NEMA expander (XP-32) has a fixed input. The new expander will allow selection of RS-422 or RS-232 inputs. One unit will need to be sent in for evaluation purposes. The total requirement is for 260 units. The specifications of the unit are: ?For reasons of compatibility with equipment designed to earlier versions of the NMEA 0183 v3.01 standard, it is noted that the ?idle, marking, logical 1, OFF or stop bit state? had previously been defined to be in the range -15 to+0.5 Volts. The active, spacing, logical 0, ON or start bit state? was defined to be in the range +4.0 to +15 Volts while sourcing not less than 15 mA. Serial data to flow in one direction. Unit to be sealed from the elements by potting the circuitry; Terminal block connections for all connections. Electrical isolation is required, no common ground. Voltage Isolation is 2kv. Drawings are available illustrating the use of the expanders. Inputs are to be labeled RS-422 and RS-232, 4 outputs with one labeled RS-422 and three labeled RS-232. Voltage range to be 9-18VDC. The size of the unit is to be no larger than 3x5 (size of Vectra), smaller if possible. The company should provide a mechanical and electrical drawing of your proposed product along with a unit for evaluation. Company?s quotes should include unit pricing, availability, company Tax Information Number and DUNS Number. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by this agency. The following FAR clauses apply to this solicitation.
