- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Alcohol and Alcoholism (NIAAA), Bethesda, MD intends to modify its existing contract awarded via sole source to MedData Research, Inc., P. O. Box 717, Walkersville, MD 21793. The purpose of this modification is to increase the contract ceiling due to (a) the requirements issued by the Department of Homeland Security regarding increasing computer security; (b) intramural and extramural programs moving to new locations, and (c) major organizational changes within the Institutes. The contract is for the development and expansion of computer systems used for medical image processing, neurophysiological data acquisition and data management analysis used when conducting basic research. The modules are built on a proprietary software program. The total contract ceiling with this modification will be $5 million. MedData Research, Inc. is the only known source capable of providing these services due to the proprietary software. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. The closing date will be thirty (30) days after publication of this notice.
