Description: The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory intends to award on a sole source basis a firm fixed price order with Communication Techniques, Inc., 9 Whippany Road, Whippany, New Jersey 07981 for repair of five (5) CTI VXI based synthesizers. CTI was the original manufacturer and supplier of the synthesizer units, item #1056A. These units are five (5) out of a lot of twelve (12) units that must be of uniform manufacture and performance. All twelve (12) must be funtioning by the end of July 2004. While this notice is not a request for quote, responsbile sources that feel they can offer an alternative solution may respond to this notice.
