Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for maintenance dredging of approximately 70,000 cubic yards of silt and sand from the Southport Harbor Federal navigation channel and anchorage area. Dredg ed material shall be removed mechanically by clamshell bucket. The dredged material shall be loaded onto scows, and towed to the Western Long Island Sound Disposal Site for unconfined open water disposal. The contractor must have dredging equipment on-si te to initiate dredging within 30 days of the notice to proceed, prosecute the work diligently, and complete the entire work ready for use not later than 150 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives notice to proceed. The time stated for comple tion shall include final cleanup of the premises. Due to environmental restrictions dredging operations at the project site will only be permitted from October 1 through March 31. All dredging work must be completed within one dredging seasonThe NAICS co de for this Procurement is 237990, with a Size Standard of $17.02 million. This solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about 16 August 2004. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available. Am endments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. All respon sible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the New England District.
