- Description
- The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Upstate New York Service Center is conducting market research to determine the availability of interested companies for the application of high quality epoxy coatings on concrete kitchen flooring, stair tread surfaces and landings (1,000 square feet) and must be capable of supplying high performance, high quality and warranted epoxy coated surfaces for a Detention Facility in Batavia, New York. The government's requirement that the surface be anti-skid and durable for at least seven (7) years without any blistering, peeling or delamination. The KITCHEN area is approximately 6,500 Square Feet. Preparation of concrete flooring surfaces through removal of existing epoxy coated surface includes filling of all cracks, saw cutting or key-in around drains, pipes, fixed surfaces or doorways; filling in of low floor areas to ensure proper drainage of surfaces towards floor drains (if applicable) and applying primer bond to all flooring surfaces; install 100% solids decorative quartz epoxy floor system at 3/16? thick; apply seal coat of 100% solids clear epoxy at 18-20 mils thick. The STAIR TREADS (282 steps) and LANDINGS (650 square feet) requires preparation of step treads by diamond grinding concrete tread surfaces, apply tread coat with bonding agent at 20 mils, broadcast with fine-medium aluminum oxide materials to provide non-skid texture and apply 100% solids epoxy sealer at 8 mils thick The CONTROL CENTER FLOORING (400 Square Feet) requires preparation of flooring surfaces through the removal of existing VCT and mastic, prepare concrete surface utilizing dustless diamond grinding equipment, install scratch resistant flooring and install two coats clearcoat. All work must be completed in one mobilization. All areas must be completed with minimal disruption to operations. Work may need to be completed on off hours to maximize construction efficiency and minimize disruption.
