Description

Automatic Starter Patch Facility: NSN3690-01-X04-0603, Must meet the requirements as specified in the Equipment Technical Data Package specification No. TS-2004-ET-01 dated March 2004. Specification establishes the Performance, Design, Fabrication, Testing, Installation, Acceptance, and Training of the Starter Patch Facility. The production capacity of the Starter Patch Process Equipment shall be such as to process (impregnate cut/form and dry) not less than 800 square feet of finished patches or 2 000 M8 Starter Sleeves, cut and or formed in accordance with the Technical Data Package individual parameters, in the case of the M8 Starter Patch, impregnated, cut, rolled and dried, all within a 10 hour period (normal shift is 10 hours/day. The M90 gren ade canister and the M18 grenade require the same terry cloth patch while the M8 Smoke Pot requires a cotton muslin fabric; each patch is impregnated with the same mixture (see Drawing. B143-15-1) as follows: potassium nitrate, charcoal, gum of Arabic and water. These chemicals are made into a slurry mix or impregnation mix, when cured/dried they become a pyrotechnic initiating device. Quantity- 1 Job, The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 423830 is applicable with a size standa rd of 500 employees. FSC code is 3690. Solicitation issue date on or after 19 August 2004. All responsible business sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Numbered note 8 applicable.
