Description

The National Park Service is issuing a solicitation (Request for Quotation) for the fireplace and chimney rehabilitation of the Guerin House, a contributing structure to the Morristown National Historical Park, Morris County, NJ. The work includes: the inspection and general construction consisting of: chimney cleanings, chimney relining; firebox rehabilitation; and associated work on the three (3) Guerin House chimneys and corresponding fireplaces. The Guerin House chimneys were reconstructed with salvaged brick during the 1936 restoration of this late 18th-century house. All three (3) chimneys exhibit clay tile flues; a new stainless steel flue was installed to vent the boiler in 2000. The solicitation, including the specifications, and wage determination, will be posted to the websites, http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about August 20, 2004. All pertinent information regarding this solicitation, to include any amendments, will be posted on this website. No hard or soft copies of the solicitation will be mailed or issued in any way directly from the contracting office. TELEPHONE, VERBAL, EMAIL OR FAX REQUESTS FOR COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE RECOGNIZED OR HONORED BY THE GOVERNMENT. The place of performance for this contract is within the Morristown National Historical Park, Morris County, NJ. The Guerin House is located on Jockey Hollow Road, Morristown National Historical Park, Morristown, NJ. The Guerin House is a contributing structure to the Morristown National Historical Park and the National Register of Historic Places. It is also a private NPS residence and is currently occupied. Based on the magnitude of this project, the price is estimated to be between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The NAICS 2002 code for this project is 238140 with a size standard of $12,000,000.00. This acquisition is being issued pursuant to the "Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program Act of 1988 (Public Law 100-656)" and subsequent award will be subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Program. Therefore, this solicitation will be issued unrestricted.
