Description
Specific Work Requirement: The client requires dry-wood termite fumigation and glycol borate treatment inside three identically sized warehouses, constructed with cinder block and terra cotta walls, and exposed wooden ceiling, rafters, and interior floor-to-ceiling beams. Each building measures 497 feet long by 202 feet wide. Each building is topped with a series of three lengthwise curved-arch roofs. Picture three loaves of bread placed side by side by side. Each of the three arched roofs is topped by a windowed crows nest running the entire 497 foot length of the arch and measuring approximately ten feet wide and eight feet high. The base of the roof is approximately 17 feet above floor level at 1) the exterior walls and at 2) both points 67 feet in from the exterior walls, where the three lengthwise arches join. Height at the top of the arch is approximately 25 feet. The crows nests were designed to allow in light and are open to the floor below. The warehouses contain a number of wooden crates and boxes and care should be taken to minimize dripping or spray of glycol borate. Computer workstations and forklifts will require tarp covering. Based on the dimensions cited, the government estimates each building to contain approximately 2,500,000 cubic feet of space requiring Vikane/Chloropicrin fumigation. The ceiling area is estimated at approximately 100,000 square feet, plus a factor of 50% to cover rafters, crows nest, floor-to-ceiling beams, and various doorways. Therefore total glycol borate treatment area per building is estimated at 150,000 square feet. Total gassed volume for all three buildings is estimated at 7,500,000 cubic feet and total glycol borate treated areas for all three buildings is estimated at 450,000 square feet. Site Visit: A site visit will be provided for any contractor requiring one, scheduled for 9:00AM Tuesday morning 17 AUG 04, otherwise, you may rely on the government estimates.
