Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to procure fume hood renovations at the NOAA, Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratories, Miami, FL. The price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The acquisition is set aside 100% for small business. NAICS code is 238220. Business size standard is $12.0 million. The work will consist of removal of the existing fume hood exhaust system ductwork above accessible ceilings, the removal of the existing fume hood exhaust fan (EF-9), the installation of new PCD fume hood exhaust ductwork, the installation of two new redundant exhaust fans on the roof, the installation of a new tempered air make-up air unit and associated ductwork, and the addition of associated controls and related accessories in accordance with the contract documents, complete will all required equipment accessories, appurtenances and materials for a complete system in good working order. Bid additive 1 shall consist of providing new fume hood alarms on all of the existing fume hoods. The alarms shall be both audible and visual alarms, and connected to the existing BAS system at the facility. Bid additive 2 shall consist of the removal of required hard ceilings to facilitate in the removal of existing galvanized sheet metal ductwork, and for the installation of new PCD exhaust ductwork in varioius areas with hard ceilings on the second floor of the laboratory. Areas required to be removed shall be coordinated and directed by the mechanical contractor and/or as indicated on the constuction documents. Performance period is 90 days. The resultant contract will be firm fixed price. All responsible firms may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency.
