Description
Architect/Engineer to provide design services to renovate 2nd floor "D" wing to consolidate the 5th floor MICU/CCU beds and the 2nd floor SICU beds into one single location. A new 800 sf bridge/walkway is required to facilitate transport of patients directly from the OR suite to the consolidated unit. The A/E shall review the program materials furnished by the VA to ascertain the requirements of the work and shall prepare Schematic and Design development documents illustrating the scale and relationship of project components for review and approval of the VA which detail the minimum requirements for various AE submissions. The design shall include but not be limited to Preliminary Feasibility Study, Site Design, Architectural Design, Structural Design, Mechanical & Electrical Design, Cost estimate, Phasing Plans, etc. All design work shall be completed in accordance with VA Design Guides and Construction Standards. All design work shall be completed using the most current version of AutoCAD. Design steps will include concept/schematic plans, design development, and construction documents. Design contract work to be completed within two hundred twelve (212) calendar days after award of A/E contract. Selection of an A/E firm shall be based on overall previous experience with these types of projects, and the ability to provide an acceptable design within the applicable time constraints. Design firms wihtin 150 mile radius of VANJHCS, 385 Tremont Avenue, East Orange, NJ will be considered. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT.
