Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a Preventive Maintenance Agreement for laboratory equipment, SXM 320. NIST has purchased an atomic force microscope dedicated to measurement and calibration of critical dimensions (also called line widths) on semiconductor wafer surfaces. This instrument is a key component of a new Nanomanufacturing Program in the Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory. The instrument is called the SXM 320. It includes the most advanced technology that can be acquired in sidewall sensing technology in order to perform the sensitive line width measurements. NIST needs to ensure that the SXM 320 remains fully operational. Therefore, NIST has a requirement for a preventative maintenance agreement for the SXM 320. The preventative maintenance agreement shall include four (4) onsite service visits within fifteen (15) months to service, calibrate, repair malfunctioning components, and check the operation of the SXM. Details of this requirement will be provided in the solicitation. The period of performance for this requirement will be fifteen (15) months from the date of award. Award of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) commercial Purchase Order is anticipated. It is anticipated that a single solicitation will be issued on or about August 13, 2004 at www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation, all amendments and any questions and answers to the solicitation will be posted to FEDBIZOPPS and are totally the responsibility of the Offeror. No mailing lists will be kept and no hard copy of the RFQ will be available.
