Description
The VA requires a commercial database for pharmacy information. The commercial database shall include every drug product approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for manufacture and distribution of healthcare. This would encompass prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, herbals, chemicals used for compounding, medical devices and supplies. Currently VHA has a system that is maintained nationally and updated occasionally to local facilities. The current system is contained in a package called the NAtional Drug File. The current system is unable to meet the current needs of VHA. The new system will be integrated into the new reengineered pharmacy software that will be part of the HealtheVet-VistA, and ultimately HealtheVet systems. The contract will have Phase I as a pilot implementation with Optional Phase II for an enterprise-wide implementation. Phase II will include 3 option years. The NAICS Code is 421430. The solicitation will be unrestricted. The Solicitation will be posted and be available to download on or about August 30, 2004. All contractors are required to be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to being awarded a contract by VA. The CCR database is the primary Government repository for contractor information required to conduct business with the Federal Government. If your firm is already registered in CCR, please provide your DUNS number in your proposal. The DUNS number will be used to verify your registration in CCR. 1. Obtain a DUNS number by calling Dun and Bradstreet at 1-866-705-7511. 2. Register in CCR. The preferred method for registration is via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov. The CCR Handbook and a registration template are located at that site.
