Description
"This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.nayv.mil. while it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Division Crane." The Navy requires activation of flooded lead acid submarine batteries (Trident, Seawolf, Los Angeles and Virginia class) and related logistics efforts. The Government intends to award a sole-source Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity Requirements contract with an ordering period of four years. The contractor is Exide Technologies, Inc. and the estimated number of batteries to be activated is 21 each. There is also a requirement for relocation of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and approximate! ly 21 battery sets from Exide's Kankakee, IL facility to its Columbus, GA facility. Other related requirements are for storage of GFE, storage of approximately 25 battery sets at Exide's Columbus facility, and program management functions such as spare parts inventory maintenance, document control, spare cell management, repairs, and other efforts. A fixed-price contract is anticipated. Delivery will be FOB origin. Final inspection and acceptance will be at origin. The applicable NAICS Classification is 335912 and the size standard is 1000 employees.
