Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, John D. Dingell Medical Center, 4646 John R. Street, Detroit, Michigan 48201 intends to negotiate with Bayer Healthcare LLC, 511 Benedict Ave., Tarrytown, NY 10591, 800-800-9666 for the purchase of Bayer System 340 Analyzer, Jouan Refrigerated Centrifug, HIV installation start up kit, item #112021, HCV installation start up kit, item #129774 and one water bath. All instrumenttion is included in a monthly fee. Included are 4 HIV and 5 HCV viral load detection kits, per quarter for the quantitation testing. Disposables are not included. The program that this is being procured under is called "Molecular Made Easy" This proposed contract action is for the system/equipment mentioned above, which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302-1. All FAR provisions and clauses maybe reviewed and/or obtained from he General Service internet address: http://www.gover/far. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposal contract, based upon responses to this notice, is solely with the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses must be submitted no later than August 20, 2004, to the contracting officer indicated above. See numbered note 22. No E-Mail request will be accepted.
