Description
The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary in Bryan TX requires services of the Tennessee Aquarium to design, develop and maintain a set of interactive stations to interpret the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary programs and trust resources. The stations will complement the one-half million gallon tank modeled after the Flower Garden Banks in the new wing of the Tennessee Aquarium, schedule to open in the Spring of 2005. The Tennessee Aquarium will design and develop software and content for the interactive program based on specific topics, possible animations, graphics, video clips, etc; purchase hardware for six stations plus one back-up; secure use rights for still and video images to illustrate content; construct appropriate housing and mounting structures for installation of hardware in the exhibit at the aquarium. The Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary partners with a variety of non-governmental organizations that have missions compatible with the sanctuary?s mandates. This effort is part of the development of a partnership with the Tennessee Aquarium. The partnership is necessary in order for sanctuary staff to reach vast numbers of the public that interact with the aquarium each year. The aquarium is expanding the facility. The centerpiece of the expansion is the one half million gallon tank modeled after the Flower Garden Banks. The Government plans to request a quote from only one source, Tennessee Aquarium, for this requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302 and following the guidelines in FAR Part 12 Commercial Acquisitions and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisitions. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responses received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any responsible firm interested in this requirement may submit its qualifications via fax to (816) 426-5067, Attention Sharon Clisso or e-mail Ms. Clisso at Sharon.k.clisso@noaa.gov. Information should reference number NCND6011400018SKC. The DOC requires that all contractors doing business with the Government be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). No award can be made to a company not registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR, please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov .
