Description

The Purpose of this contract is to establish continual and reliable fire protection services to meet or exceed all applicable standards as found in NFPA 13E, 1901, and 1500, and VA regulations as described in MP-3, Part 3, Change 22, paragraph 34.04. These references shall be used as a minimum as this scope of work contains requirements that exceed the basic requirements of the references and are described herein. The Contractor will furnish fire protection to the VA Medical Center Sheridan (hereafter referred to as VAMC) at all times. The fire protection to be furnished under this contract applies to all buildings owned by the VAMC as well as all equipment and materials located therein. The Contractor will respond from a fire department no further from the VAMC than the current Contractor Fire Department. This is approximately 2.7 miles from an entrance to the VAMC and approximately 3.4 miles from the first building on VAMC grounds. When an alarm is activated the contractor will respond with a minimum of one 1,250 GPM pumper and four trained firefighters. All responses will be in accordance to NFPA 1901. The Contractor will take appropriate actions to suppress any fire and perform rescue associated with these fires. All responding personnel will be trained in first aid as a minimum.
