Description
CONTACT Laurence Rubel, Production Engineer, 732-532-2991. This is a market survey to locate additional sources for redesign of obsolete components and depot level maintenance for the AN/TRN-30(V1) & (V2), NSNs: 5825-00-405-4510 and 5825-00-423-1654. The AN/TRN-30 was introduced into the Army's inventory in 1969. The existing design uses a variety of parts that are no longer obtainable. Redesign of obsolete components is required ASAP. Production of the redesigned items is required following redesign and test. Parts will be required until 2015. The purpose of this survey is to replace obsolete nonprocurable components by replacing them with modern sustainable components. Tasks include: (1) Study of the current design to correctly specify the behavior o f replacement parts. (2) Design sustainable replacement parts. (3)Enough qualification testing to demonstrate that the re-engineered system performs at least as well as the original. (4)Document operational or maintenance changes. (5)Document the re-engine ered system configuration for retrofit of additional systems in the future. The government has a drawing package for the AN/TRN-30. Suppliers capable of furnishing this service must so indicate, by writing to Commander, USACECOM; ATTN: AMSEL-LC-CCS-A-MM ( Larry Rubel); Building 1200E; Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000. The response must include documentation such as examples of previous design and production of military systems, test results, or other supporting documentation demonstrating that the contractor ca n, in fact, engineer and supply the Army with a functional design and required components. Successful supplier may be required to warrant that the items supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army. For more informati on contact Laurence Rubel, (732) 532-2991. or Russell Brown, (732) 532-2331. The deadline for response is August 27, 2004. EMAIL ADDRESS: laurence.rubel@monmouth.army.mil
