- Attached hereto are the governments’ responses to questions received following the site visit held on 20 August 2004 for the Internet Service and Support requirement at the Base Library on Bolling Air Force Base. Q: What are the model and version of the router and switches located in the library? Answer: ROUTER: Cisco 2600 series, SWITCHES: 3COM Super Stack II Switch 3300 (two), 3COM 4228G 24PT 10/100 4 GIG PORTS (one) Q: Do you want the new contractor to provide maintenance on these Cisco devices or do you currently have them under your maintenance agreement? Answer: Yes, the new contractor shall provide maintenance on the Cisco device and switches. Q: Does the router have a built-in CSU/DSU or must a CSU/DSU be provided along with the T-1 line? Answer: No, the router does not have a built-in CSU/DSU and yes, a CSU/DSU must be provided along with the T-1. Q: If advantages to the government, can a contractor be a reseller of ISP services and still be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of that connection? Answer: The contractor that submits the proposal shall be fully responsible for all requirements specified in this solicitation. Q: Can the current contract monthly pricing for ISP services be disclosed? Answer: The current contract monthly cost for ISP services is $499.00 per month. Q: Is the current network hardware ( router, switches ) under any manufacturer warranty? If so, when is the expiration date? Answer: No. Q: Should the current network hardware malfunction, is it the responsibility of the contractor to procure and replace it under this contract without additional gov't funds? Answer: Should the current network hardware malfunction, it is the responsibility of the contractor to procure and replace it under this contract with additional gov't funds. All contractors should submit their proposals as if the current network hardware (router, switches) are not covered by any manufacturer warranty. Q: How much data will be stored on the Library services servers; will it require terabyte servers? Answer: We do not want the contractor to provide any service or maintenance for our servers or workstations. Q: Which companies attended the bidder’s walk-through? Answer: Company: Sidhu Associates, Inc, Address: Executive Plaza III, Suite 1000, 11350 McCormick Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21031-1044; Company: Realistic Computing, Inc., Address: 5710 Executive Drive, Suite 105, Baltimore, MD 21228 Company: Network Systems Integration, Inc., Address: 3231 Superior Lane, A-21, Bowie, MD 20715; Company: MicroTech LLC, Address: 8320 Old Courthouse Rd, Suite 500, Vienna, VA 22182 Q: What equipment will be provided by Bolling AFB if any? Answer: BAFB Library will provide the following equipment: One Router, Three Switches, and Network Cables. See question one for additional information. Q: What are your plans for the potential gap in service should provider other than the incumbent be awarded? Answer: There shall be no gap in service. There will be a coordination between the existing ISP and the incoming ISP about the change of service.
