Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The US Army Corps of Engineers, intends to award a 8a contract in accordance with the statement of works as follows: A.1. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, material, labor, and equipment to remove two (2) large solar tanks and associated piping etc in various locations within main mechanical room 148C in building 2594 (Casey Building). The Contractor shall furnish all materials and equipment needed for this project (this pro ject is considered turnkey  all-inclusive). The project location is at building 2594 (Casey Building) Humphreys Engineer Center 7701 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22310. Point of Contract (POC) for questions or to visit project (recommended) site is J ames K. Groves 703-428-6063 Room #129 in the Casey Bldg. A.2. The Contractor shall remove the existing solar storage tanks two (2) each, solar collectors, solar heat exchanger, solar valves, solar unions and associated solar piping etc as marked. All yellow colored piping and components is marked with brown spr ay paint and arrows etc to indicated sections and components to be removed. All piping must be cut and properly sealed/capped. The contractor must coordinate the project with the POC listed above. The contractor must provide a schedule to the designated PO Cs at least one (1) week in advance. A.3. All removed sections i.e. tanks, piping, components, etc must be removed from site on a daily schedule and or the contractor must provide a roll off sized to accommodate the debris. A.4. The contractor must notify the Fort Belvoir Fire Department to obtain a Burn Permit prior to any torch cutting etc 703 805-2091. The contractor must also contact Mike Rawlings to secure the Fire Alarm System, The zone which controls smoke detectors an d duct detectors must be shut down during active cutting to avoid any false alarms, The system must be re-activated at or before the close of business each day, The building must be protected as much as possible during the course of this project and the sy stem must be 100% active during all non duty hours and weekends. Page 1 of 2 B.1. The Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with (IAW) EM 385-1-1 Latest Version, US Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual, OSHA Requirements B.2. The contractor shall not leave any areas in an unsafe manner and shall remove debris from the complex on a daily basis. B.3. The Contractor shall verify measurements and site conditions. B.4. Any Government property damaged by the contractor shall be repaired to a condition acceptable to the Government at no additional cost to the Government. B.5. All work shall be performed during normal duty hours, 0630 to 1500 daily. Exceptions must be approved by the government point of contract (POC) prior to working other than the stated hours. Saturday and Sunday work may be a requirement. B.6. Required Safety Equipment shall be worn at all times. B.7. All work shall be done in a professional workman like manner. B.8. The Project shall not be accepted until 100 % complete and to the satisfaction of the POC. (James Groves). The solicitation incorporates provision and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-24, NAICS code is 238990. Ad ditional FAR DFAR clauses are applicable: 52.212-4, 52-212-5, 52-222-26, 52-232-33, 252.225-7001.
