Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with the Texas Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics, 1100 West 49th Street, Austin, Texas under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements to purchase on-line birth verifications for processing official workloads. The Texas Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics, is the custodian of birth records for the State of Texas. It is the only source that SSA employees may use for obtaining Texas birth verifications. The government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available; therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses to this notice must be submitted by September 7, 2004.
