- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued. Military Sealift Command?s (MSC) requirements request services to perform the following work required. (SEE STATEMENT OF WORK). This requirement is totally set-aside to small business. Only written (fax or email) proposals will be accepted. Firmed Fixed Price proposal must be received no later than 3:00 PM, 08 Sep 2004. POINT OF CONTACT: Michael Jones, at 619-524-9763, Fax: 619-553-7695, e-mail: michael.r.jones1@navy.mil Statement of Work: Provide services of a Qualified Marine Contractor to upgrade VIP Stateroom work as follows: a) Deck - Existing desk, foundations and tile to remove and patch underlayment as required. Install carpet approx. 274 Sq. Ft area and 4?0? X 4?0? section of Stratica Tile (wood-grained pattern) just inside the passageway entry door. The carpet sample and color needs to be determined by MSC Representative. b) Bulkheads ? Provide and install bulkhead framing for approx. 23 LF of bulkheads for a new wall covering and compliment the design and style of the other bulkheads and doors. Outboard Porthole will have a combing manufactured and installed. c) Provide and install one each 2 seat New Sofa. The color should compliment surrounding bulkheads and deck carpet. d) Install one new end table with decorative high-pressure laminate on top. If possible, the table to have enclosed bodies with door for accessing storage. Manufacture a 12? d X 18 ? w fold down table which will be mounted to the bulkhead between the end of the sofa and the bunk. e) Workstation ? Remove existing counter and move drawer section to inside bulkhead. Install new L-shaped counter top or desk for workstation on aft bulkhead with one each computer keyboard pull out and one each CPU hard drive holder and one each pencil drawer. Desktop will be covered with decorative high-pressure laminate to compliment the other desk /tabletop. Contractor to provide and install one each new L-shaped bookcase and covered with high-pressure laminate. Bookcase will feature under counter light with light shield to illuminate work surface. f) Entertainment Center ? Entertainment center to be installed in aft out-board corner. The center to provide storage for a refrigerator and shelving for other items such as TV, VCR, and DVD Player. The vessel will provide all the equipments such refrigerator, DVD Player, TV, Microwave oven etc. Provide outlets For the equipments to connect. g) Manufacture and install new 15? X 20? shelf to mount microwave oven outboard aft bulkhead. Shelf will be 316 CRES and provide electrical out for the microwave oven. h) Electrical ? Install a new bunk light on forward bulkhead over the bunk. Install sconce lights with individual switches which will be mounted to the forward bulkhead t the end of sofa and approx. 56? off the deck. i) A privacy curtain will be installed at the door to allow the door to be opened with curtain closed. Curtain to be made with USCG approved materials and mounted on a curved rod. Relocate EEBS and the mirror from aft bulkhead to the end of closet. Install two hat rack or similar on the bulkhead. Vessel Availability: Presently, however, Contractor must always keep in mind that USNS Mercy is a Hospital Ship and with exception of periodic 2-3 week Voyage repair periods, must be able to sail away to action within five (5) days when so ordered by Navy.
