- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to the following questions regarding Solicitation NNJ0479096Q. (1) How much storage space do you desire At least 400 GB in storage (2) What is the length recording time you require? At least 8 hours for the 16 channels at 200 kHz, 24 bits and at least 2 hours for 8 channels at 10 MS/s, 12 bits. (3) The system is required to have 16 differential input channels with 200 kHz sample rate per channel at 24 bits resolution; are these 16 Analog inputs? Yes, they are analog inputs, which get digitized by the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) at 24-bit resolution. (4) The term "24 bit resolution" can assume 2 explanations: (a) One is associated with digital data only in which one assumes that input is simply 24 bits wide (b) The other one is associated with a number of A/Ds (Analog to Digital Converters) used: 1. If 1 A/D is used then it really means 24 bit digitization from an analog signal 2. If 2 A/Ds are used it would mean 2 x digitization of 12 bits (each A/D would digitize to 12 bits) 3. If 3 A/Ds are used it would mean 3 x digitization of 8 bits (each A/D digitizes to 8 bits) Which one of these cases above is the applicable to your synopsis? Explanation (b)1 is applicable to the synopsis NNJ0479096Q. 24 bit resolution in this case is associated with the number of A/Ds to be used. One A/D is to be used, translating into 24 bit digitization from an analog signal. (5) Is the data acquisition system intended to be rack mounted? This equipment is not required to be rack mounted. (6) Do you know if we are supposed to attach a formal proposal with details on the proposed system You should include product specifications with your quote. However, a formal proposal is not required. (7) Are there any requirements on providing information on previous contracts? No. Past Performance on previous contracts is not being used as a selection criterion in this procurement. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on August 31, 2004. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
