Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), has a requirement for five thousand (5,000) Stiff Card Mounts with Polystyrene Windows to be used as NIST Standard Reference Materials (SRM). The Contractor shall be required to mount small pieces of Polystyrene in sandwich fashion on stiff cardboard material cards. NIST shall provide the roll of Polystyrene. The Contractor shall be required to print on the front and reverse of the cards per NIST specifications for wording and numbering. Each card shall have a unique number and shall increase in sequential order and with regard to the position of sheets from the polystyrene roll. The Contractor shall be required to handle the Polystyrene carefully to avoid fingerprints, folds, tears, and wrinkles in the aperture window. Each card shall be mounted into its own cover sleeve. The remainder of the Polystyrene roll shall be returned to NIST upon completion of the job. Drawings of the required size and shape of the card mounts shall be provided along with the solicitation. ***FOB shall be DESTINATION, Gaithersburg, MD. ***The NAICS code for this requirement is 323119, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. . This acquisition is 100 percent set aside for small business. In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Sub-Part 19.5 Set-asides for Small Business, the manufacturer AND distributor must be classified as small business in order to be considered for award. Reference Numbered Note 1. ***The competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), specifications, RFQ amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at HTTP://WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV under RFQ number SB1341-04-Q-0976. ***The RFQ is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about September 13, 2004, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. ***Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. No written solicitation document is available, telephone requests shall not be honored, and no bidders list shall be maintained.
