Description
The Dayton VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole-source contract under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1(a)(2) for a base year with four one-year optional renewal periods. The agency need is for an online clinical reference website. The government has determined that UpToDate, Inc. is the only responsible source able to provide these service because UpToDate is a unique clinical reference that gives current answers to patient care, diagnosis and treatment questions in seconds at the point-of-care. A well-known faculty of over 3,000 authors writes the original text. Inclusion of specific recommendations for diagnosis and treatment make UpToDate unique among clinical information databases. UptoDate?s unique Features & Benefits include in-house physician reviews for over 300 medical journals and incorporate significant clinical findings daily. The benefit of UpToDate is that it improves organizational efficiency, effectiveness and quality of care by helping physicians stay current on studies, trials and medical information, and clinical management. If other offerors feel they can meet the needs of the government they should submit their proposals to the Contracting Officer no later than the due date and time specified. Information submitted will be evaluated with final determination on offeror qualifications and ability to meet the needs of the government resting with the Contracting Officer. All questions and comments shall be addressed in writing to the Administrative Contracting Officer either by FAX at (937) 262-5974 or by email at Robert.Ivey@med.va.gov. See numbered note 22.
