Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Stryker Corp. Medical Division of Kalamazoo MI to provide XPERT Sleep Surface for the Spinal Cord Injury Center located at the VA Hospital Hines IL. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 337910. The type of sleep surface required is an advanced pulmonary and low air loss surface that performs low air loss, pulmonary therapies and turn assist up to 500 pounds. The sleep surface must include but not be limited to the following: rotation featuring >80 arc, low air loss, rotation with fowler at 45 degrees, dartex cover, turn assist hold capability, adjustable percussion BPS intensity and duration, adjustable vibration intensity and duration, percussion/vibration (right lung, left lung or bilateral), two layers of pressure relieving surface, heal specific ulcer prevention/treatment, max inflate, therapy history tracking, therapy statistics, touch screen with lockout, programmable defaults, multiple languages, self diagnostic functionality, color display screen, fluid and bacteria resistant cover, CAL 117 and Boston IX II flammability rating, firm foam perimeter, latex free. To the best of our knowledge, Stryker is the only vendor that can provide this specific type of equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Stryker Corp.
