COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. (August 6, 2004) ?Homeland Defense and NORTHCOM?s On-going Evolution?; ?One-Team, One Fight: Breaking down Barriers Between Agencies?; ?First responders?; and ?Industry?s Response to Homeland Defense?; these are just a sampling of such topics which will be discussed at the Second Annual Homeland Defense Symposium to be held in Colorado Springs at the world-class Broadmoor International Center, October 12-14, 2004. The theme, ?Partners in Protecting Our Homeland? will underscore a significant gathering of professionals and agencies that deal with our nation?s Homeland Defense, Homeland Security, its Civil Support and Emergency Response. In a special Homeland Defense Forum, co-sponsored by United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), attendees will hear prominent keynote speakers and expert panelists address the progress made and the concerns still facing America?s Homeland Defense. Special Breakout sessions will encourage further participant interaction in more highly focused groups. Co-sponsors National Defense Industries Association (NDIA), Air Force Association (AFA), Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce have also included a social icebreaker, an evening banquet and a special golf outing at the Broadmoor Hotel Golf Course. This year?s Homeland Defense Symposium promises to be a significant event in promoting further knowledge, opportunity, and team work in the new and very necessary area of Homeland Defense.
