Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC Division Newport intends to award a sole source contract to KITCO Fiber Optics, Virginia Beach, VA for the following items: a. 7 ea. 1C1S1N7C11P1, 60 ft., P/N KFO 11215; b. 4 ea. 7C11P17C11P1, 6 ft., P/N KFO 11216; c. 1 ea. 7F11P1ST, 50 ft., KFO 11217; d. 1 ea. 7F11P2ST, 50 ft., P/N KFO11218; e. 2 ea. 7B12P1ST, 30 ft., P/N KFO 11214F30; f. 3 ea. 7B12P1ST, 50 ft., P/N KFO 11214F50; g. 1 ea. 1C1S1NST, 50 ft., P/N KFO 11212; h. 4 ea. 1C1S1NST, 30 ft., P/N KFO 11211F08; i. 8 ea. 1C1S1NST, 30 ft., P/N KFO 11211F30; j. 1 ea. STST, 20 ft., KFO 11213. The basis for the sole source is 100% compatibility with current AN/WSQ9 system and cables. All the cables in the current configuration were purchased from KITCO, as well as all of the cables used to link the components of the AN/WSQ9 system. 100% compatibility is necessary for the purpose of performing debugging between two of these systems. The solicitation will be available no earlier than 14 SEP 2004. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
