Description

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) , the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to award a sole source Purchase Order to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) for the Advancement of Military Medicine , Rockville, MD, to provide the services of two research scientists for 500 hours of support to complete projects in an ongoing research study funded via a grant. This support will be provided for a period of performance of approximately three months to assist laboratory researchers with immunohistochemical analysis of neuronal damage caused by chronic cyanide treatment on research animals and bioinformatic analysis of proteomic data obtained from these studies, as well as biochemical analyses, such as enzyme assays. The statutory authority permitting this award under other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5), ?Authorized or Required by Statute.? The proposed procurement will be awarded under simplified acquisition procedures and is in compliance with Public Law 92-246, entitled ?Uniformed Service Health Professions Revitalization Act of 1972? and 10 U.S.C. 178 and 2113(j)(1)(A) that authorize USUHS to award contracts to HJF on a non-competitive basis when determined to be in the best interest of the Government.
