BASE + OPTION YEAR BASE YEAR IS 01 OCTOBER 2004 TO 30 SEPTEMBER 2005 OPTION YEAR ONE IS 01 OCTOBER 2005 TO 30 SEPTEMBER 2006. INSTRUCTIONS TO VENDOR: CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, SAMPLE BOTTLES, COLLECTION AND SUPERVISION NECESSARY TO ANALYZE DRINKING WATER SAMPLES FROM LOCATIONS AT NAVAL STATION NEWPORT (NAVSTA) NEWPORT, RI IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS: ANNUAL SAMPLES ANNUAL SAMPLE (Samples done on one day at 12 locations in April) Contractor will deliver all bottles to the NAVSTA between April 1, 2004 and April 20, 2004 for ANNUAL SAMPLE identified below. NAVSTA and Contractor will make arrangements for samples to be picked up from the NAVSTA Analysis 0001 2 Each Radon 0002 2 Each 0003 64 Each Total Trihalomethanes Trihalomethanes (nine samples taken each quarter, 2 additional samples taken monthly) (will be cordinated with the Contractor)NOT PART OF ANNUAL SAMPLE (Taken as specified) 0004 24 Each Haloacidic AcidsFFP(four samples taken each quarter) (will be cordinated with the Contractor)NOT PART OF ANNUAL SAMPLE (Taken as specified) 0005 40 Each Lead and Copper (Various times will be cordinated with the Contractor)NOT PART OF ANNUAL SAMPLE (Taken as specified) 0006 420 Each Coliform Samples Coliform samples (Analyzed weekly with specifications below)Potable water sampling services test samples of potable water for bacterial content using approved testing methods. Test samples will be picked up at 11:30 PM on the first four Wednesday's of every month at Building 25. Samples need to go straight to the lab to meet holding times.Any samples that test positive for Total Coliform Bacteria will need to be tested for Fecal Colifrom (as the test procedures already require)Contractor shall pick up samples every Wednesday at 11:30 PM any repeat samples need to be coordinated and picked up to be tested after a positive result.Positive samples must be reported within 2 hours of final results by phone to Mike Grossman at 841-2261 (work number has message with on call pager number for after hours) or 401-255-7875 (cell) and to Dave Dorocz 401-841-7671(work) 401-862-8433 (cell) or 401-725-6762 (home)Lab must be able to pick up and test samples during the weekends if needed for repeat samples NOTE: SAMPLES MAY HAVE TO BE DONE ON WEEKENDS AND THE CONTRACTOR HAS A WEEKEND STAFF TO INSURE THAT SAMPLING AND TESTING CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED.ROUTINE RESULTS WILL BE FORWARDED TO NAVAL STATION NEWPORT RI WITHIN 7 CALENDAR DAYS 0007 8 Each WASTEWATER Building 1275 (Fire Fighter Training Facility). Two samples done per Quarterly taken on consecutive days in the first week of December, March, June, and September for TPH, pH (4 grab samples), Chlorine Residual, and flow (GPD, GPM, & Total Flow). (samples should be taken with an auto sampler set up by contractor) (Dates need to be coordinated with the Fire Fighting Training Facility) 0008 4 Each WASTEWATER Building 1275 (Fire Fighter Training Facility). Two samples done in December and June taken on consecutive days (taken same day as 013) for BOD, TSS, COD, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Fluoride, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Silver, Tin, Zinc, Cyanide, phenols, Sulfides, and Sulfates. (samples should be taken with an auto sampler set up by contractor) (Dates need to be coordinated with the Boiler Plant operators) 0009 4 Each WASTEWATER Building 7 Boiler Plant Two samples done in December, March, June and September taken on consecutive days for TSS, COD, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Fluoride, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Silver, Tin, Zinc, Cyanide, flow, pH (4 grab samples), TPH, Sulfides, and Sulfates. (samples should be taken with an auto sampler set up by contractor) (Dates need to be coordinated with the Boiler Plant operators 0010 4 Each WASTEWATER Building A6 Boiler Plant Two samples done in December and June taken on consecutive days for TSS, COD, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Fluoride, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Silver, Tin, Zinc, Cyanide, pH (4 grab samples), TPH, Sulfides, flow and Sulfates 0011 8 Each WASTEWATER NAPS Laboratory Building 440 Two samples done per Quarterly taken on consecutive days in the first week of December, March, June, and September for BOD, TSS, COD, Oil and Grease, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Fluoride, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Silver, Tin, Zinc, Cyanide, phenols, TPH, TTO, pH (4 grab samples), Sulfides, flow and Sulfates. (samples should be taken with an auto sampler set up by contractor) (Dates need to be coordinated with the NAPS) 0012 4 Each WASTEWATER Building 1173 Dental ClinicTwo samples done in December and June taken on consecutive days for Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Fluoride, gold, Lead, Mercury, and Silver. (samples should be taken with an auto sampler set up by contractor) (Dates need to be coordinated with the Dental Clinic) 0013 96 Each WASTEWATER DFSP Four sample sets need to be taken every month at two different locations. The sites are Outfall 005A and 008A in Tank Farm 3 and the "back yard" of Defense Fuel Support Point (DFSP) respectively. An estimated flow (in MGD) from each outfall needs to be made during each sample pull. The samples need to be taken as specified in the permit. Briefly explained "two samples need to be taken during wet weather, one sample to be taken immediately after wet weather and one sample to be taken during dry weather." If the samples can't be taken as specified then they must be taken in the final week of the month until all four samples have been taken. The constituents to be tested are:Total Suspended Solids (reported in Mg/L)Oil and Grease (Freon Extraction Method) (reported in Mg/L)pH (2 samples per day per site) Summary (12 months* 2 sites* 4 samples per month)=96 sample setsMonthly summary breakdown:pH (4 per month*2 sites*2 per sample=16 samples/month)TSS (4 per month*2 sites*1 per sample=8 samples/month)O&G (4 per month*2 sites*1 per sample=8 samples/month) 0014 8 Each WASTEWATER DFSP Samples need to be taken in March, June, September and December for Acid Extractables two samples total each quarter, one per site.
