Description
This amendment is issued to extend the response date to read 16 September 2004 at 2:00 p.m. and to respond to the following Contractor's questions. 1. The frequency of pickup states one week. Do all the containers have to be serviced in one day or can it be done in multiple days? Response: The Government’s preference is all the containers to be serviced one day a week. However, alternatives will be considered, i.e. Thursday pick-up for E2929 and surrounding buildings and the buildings on Son-tay and our other locations could possibly go to another day. 2. Is there an incumbent contractor for these services? Response: Yes, Shred Al in Durham NC 3. If there is an incumbent contractor, under The Freedom of Information Act, what is the unit price and contract price of the current contract? Response: The total contract price for last year was is $30,374.28 4. What is the required size of the 68 containers? Executive 100lbs consoles, 64 Gallon, 95 Gallon? Response: 95 Gallons 5. What is the maximum particle size for shredded materials that would be acceptable? Response: All waste should be destroyed in accordance with commercial industry standards for sensitive waste. 6. During evaluation criteria, will special consideration be given to 8(a) minority owned, small disadvantage business? Response: No, this is a small business set aside, no preference is authorized during evaluation. 7. Can I obtain a digital picture of the collection bins so I can determine bin compatibility with our on-site shredding equipment? Response: No pictures are available; arrangements may be made for viewing a typical bin. 8. What are the working hours for pick-up? Response: 1000am until 3 pm. Due to the soldiers work day is basically 9-5 time needs to be allotted for them to get in and collect the bins for the curb and they need to re-collect them off the before they go home so they need to be picked up and re-deposited at the latest 3:00 pm. 9. Is weekend service acceptable? Response: No 10. Is there any consideration for the price differential between off and on-site shredding? Do you favor one method over another? Response: Both methods if proposed will be evaluated. The Government does not have a preference. 11. Does AAA Certification with the National Association for Information Destruction contribute to the sourcing decision? Response: It will be evaluated as a benefit. 12. Do you have any estimates for current paper generation at each of the 68 collection locations? Response: 19,441 pounds give or take. 13. What are the size of the 68 containers? (i.e. 40 gal, 65 gal, 95 gal) Response: 95 gal 14. Could you tell me the contract price from the last time this was put out for bid (price per container, pound, minute)? Response: The total contract price for last year was is $30,374.28 15. Are the containers 95 gallon containers and who owns them? Response: The containers are 95 gallon and Government owned. 16. How close are the 30 buildings (general mile radius)? Response: Some are close together, however, they are on both Fort Bragg and Camp MacKall. 17. Is there a preference between onsite or offsite service? Response: No 18. Does it matter if the vendor has a NAID Certification? Response: It will be evaluated as a benefit. 19. Is there a model number on the bins? Response: No model numbers are available. Arrangements can be made to view a typical bin, however, all the bins may not be the exact same model.
